iPhone 和 iPad 都是利用了html 5 + css 來播放rich media (e.g. youtube)，看來 flash 在ipad 和iphone ，都不會在iphone 上出現。 (flash cs5 所做的 native 方法就另計)

flash 對於rich media 上來說是十分重要的，因為大量的 rich media，都是利用了 flash 的 technology (flv)。況且 html 5 + css 在近幾年都應該不會流行。

Apple 表示，不加入 flash 的原因是因為 “flash is too buggy and will crash the whole device”. 但明眼人都知道這個只是藉口。

Flash were available on the iPad, users could watch TV shows on Hulu for free instead of buying them through iTunes. Likewise, users could play some of the hundreds of Flash games on sites like Miniclip, instead of buying games through the App Store, on which Apple takes a 30% cut of every sale.

現在坊間上有大量的flash game site和免費 tv shows，加入flash player ，就等同於，減少app store 上的sales。利字當頭，想加入就很難了。
